Fire in woodlands involving small amount of branches and undergrowth which was extinguished prior to arrival of fire service by local residents. Crews damped surrounding area down with knapsacks and buckets of water.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Market Drayton, Prees, Wem and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

Fire involved approximately 400m x 100m of grass and undergrowth. Fire caused by unattended bonfire. Crews extinguished fire using 1 extended hosereel jet and fogging unit from Incident Support Unit.
