At 16:49 on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Bridgnorth.

1 fire appliance including the Incident Support Unit was mobilised from Bridgnorth.

Reports of a bonfire which had spread to dry grass in fields. The fire was out on arrival of crews, but crews dampened down the surrounding area with a fogging unit from the Incident Support Unit.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Whitchurch.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Approximately 5 meters of confier trees affected by fire. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and then checked for hot spots with a thermal imaging camera.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Hodnet, Wem and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Electric Saws/Cutters
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving approximately 100 meters of hedgerow caused by bonfire spreading. Crews have used four hose reel jets and fire fogging from the Incident Support Unit.
