At 03:14 on Friday, 22 September, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire.

4 fire appliances including the Heavy Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Hodnet, Oswestry, Prees and Wem. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Main jet

Barn fire involving 1 open ended barn containing approximately 1,700 tonnes of silage and straw. Four main jets and heavy pumping unit in use.

5 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury and Telford Central. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet

One steel sheeted derelict building involved in fire. 2 hose reel jets in use.

7 fire appliances including the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Cleobury Mortimer, Craven Arms and Ludlow. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet

Agricultural building fire involving 3 farm vehicles and 30 tonnes of straw in barn. Crews using 2 main jets and 2 hose reel jets. Crews in attendance include 2 water carriers and assistance from one appliance from Hereford & Worcester Fire Service.

Fire involving 30 tonnes of hay in dutch barn measuring approximately 30 x 20 metres. Two hose reel jets in use.

Fire involving barn containing 100 tons of hay and straw, including 1 tractor and additional farm vehicle.

1 barn well alight, measuring 20m x 10m 2 hose reel jets in use, 200 bales of hay in barn Light pumping unit in attendance setting in for water at Water plant
