1 fire appliance including the Landrover Pump was mobilised from Wem.

Fire involving area approx. 15 square metres cut trees and under growth.

At 12:35 on Tuesday, 9 September, 2014, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Bonfire in Longden Common.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Minsterley.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

Hosereel jet

Out of control bonfire that has spread to nearby wood pile. One hosereel jet used, damping down and turning over in progress.

Build bonfires well clear of buildings and never use flammable liquids to start the fire. Before you light the bonfire, check that children and animals are not hiding inside and are a safe distance away. Don't leave bonfires unattended. Don't light bonfires in unsuitable weather conditions.
