Fire Service Wants the Public to Share its First Ever Christmas Ball

Netley Hall

Shropshire firefighters have issued an invitation to members of the public to join them at the fire service’s first ever Christmas Ball next month (Dec).

“We have never held a Christmas Ball before and so we decided it would be great to share the first one with the people we serve,” said one of the event’s organisers, Emily Hodson, a technical support officer based at Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Shrewsbury headquarters.

The £25-a-head event, which includes a three-course meal, a jazz singer, a disco and a magician, is being held at Netley Hall, Dorrington, on Saturday, 1 December and all proceeds from the event will go to the Fire Fighters Charity.

“There is a close relationship between the fire service and the people of Shropshire and this is an opportunity for firefighters and members of the public to get together in a social setting for the very first time,” Emily added.

Emily Hodson and her firefighter colleague and co-organiser, Kat Frost, will be happy to hear from anyone who would like to attend the Ball. Emily can be contacted on 01743 260245, Kat Frost on 07876 493405.
