On 28th June 2007 Fire Control Operator Sally Barnett, 35, climbed Snowdon - one year after breaking her back in a horse riding accident her goal was to raise money for Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital Physiotherapy Department and the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund, both of which were instrumental in the recovery from her injury.

Sally was joined on the walk by friends and colleagues and between them they raised a combined total of £1500 for the two charities.

On Monday 3rd December, Sally presented two cheques of £750 each to Chief Fire Officer Alan Taylor receiving the cheque for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund and Jane Weston and Sandra Evans receiving the cheque for Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital Physiotherapy Department.

Sally would like to thank everyone who took part and all the people who sponsored them.
