At 12:38 on Friday, 11 August, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Combine Harvester Fire in Cheswardine.
2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Hodnet and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Thermal imaging camera
Fire involving 1 combine harvester, found to be out upon arrival of Fire Service personnel. 1 high pressure lance used to cool vehicle.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Hosereel jet
Field and hedge fire of approximately 30m by 50m of stubble alight and 100m of hedge row alight and crews are continuing to dampen down.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
1 light aircraft had crash landed into field. Passenger was out on arrival, fire service personnel have made the aircraft mechanically and electrically safe.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews called to person unable to get out of water by The Iron Bridge at Ironbridge. 1 person pulled from river by Police and in care of ambulance crews. No action required by Fire Service upon arrival to incident.

This incident was caused by water ingress affecting the electrical fuse box.
