At 18:58 on Sunday, 11 August, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Telford.
2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit and the Pinzgauer were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Minsterley, Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Hosereel jet
- Rakes, shovels, mathooks
- Thermal imaging camera
Wildfire in field involving approximately 15 acres of crops which were destroyed by fire. A fire break has been created and crews are damping down perimeter and checking for hot spots. 3 Incident Support Units attended this incident as well for better access and to utilize fogging units. Farmer onsite using machinery to assist crews.

- Hosereel jet
Field of hay on fire. Measuring approximately 200 square metres. Crews used 2 hose reel jets to extinguish fire. Assistance given by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Tweedale and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
Three vehicle road traffic collision. Crews used Holmatro cutters to released casualties from vehicle. Casualties left in care of Ambulance service. A442 closed in both directions.
