At 19:34 on Thursday, 21 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Wellington.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Tweedale and Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Main jet

Approximately 15m x 5m of grass and undergrowth on fire, crews used 1 main jet consisting of 9 lengths of 70m hose to extinguish the fire.

Fire In Open

The Wrekin

At 21:16 on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Telford.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Newport, Telford Central and Tweedale. Operations, Principal and Specialist Advisor officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: Telford and Wrekin Council.

Fire involving an area of trees and undergrowth on the Wrekin measuring approximately 20 meters by 15 meters. Crews have extinguished the fire using hose reel jets and main jets supplied by water from the water bowser. Assistance provided by local farmer and landowners. Fire service drone used to assess affected areas and thermal imaging cameras used to monitor temperatures. West Midlands Search and Rescue team alongside Telford & Wrekin Council have been in attendance to alert the public to hazards.

Incident involved 15m of conifer trees fully involved in fire.

At 09:24 on Sunday, 27 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Ludlow.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Cleobury Mortimer.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Crews found 1 small contained fire within a work shop. This was approximately 1m by 4m, crews used 1 hosereel jet and a 70m hose to extinguish the fire, the thermal imaging camera was also in use.

At 04:59 on Saturday, 19 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Shrewsbury.

5 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform and the Incident Command Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Telford, Telford Central, Tweedale, Wellington and Wem.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

This incident is a large building fire which involved 80 ton of waste materials, crews are using 4 breathing apparatus and 2 main jets to extinguish the fire, the drone is also in use.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Hodnet, Prees, Shrewsbury, Telford, Wem and Whitchurch.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

This was a barn fire approximately 80m x 20m and had spread to adjacent buildings which set alight by an electrical fault.

At 17:36 on Thursday, 3 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Minsterley.

6 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bishops Castle, Clun, Craven Arms, Ludlow and Shrewsbury. Operations, Safety and Specialist Advisor officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Large incident involving 500 meters by 200 meters of grass and gorge alight. Crews have used main jets, hose reel jets and fogging units to extinguish and control the spread of fire. Crews also operated a drone to asses the scale and spread of fire. Crews have been checking areas for hotspots using a thermal imaging camera.
