At 13:57 on Friday, 6 June, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Tweedale. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Barn and workshop involved in fire. Crews have removed hazardous items from the area and are currently using hosereel jets, main jets and curtain sprayers to prevent further fire spread.

House Fire

At 18:35 on Thursday, 15 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Market Drayton.

4 fire appliances were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton, Newport and Prees. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service , the Police and a utility company.

One bungalow well alight. Crews extinguished the fire using two hosereel jets, one covering jet and a main jet whilst wearing breathing apparatus. Crews have continued to dampen down and cutting away of affected areas. One casualty in the care of ambulance crews.

1 derelict property fully destroyed by fire. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 4 hose reel jets, 1 main jet and 1 covering jet to extinguish. Assistance obtained from Hereford & Worcester Fire Service.
