At 14:22 on Friday, 1 May, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Cleobury Mortimer.

8 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, Craven Arms and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet
  • Shovels/Forks/Brooms

Small fire in agricultural building which housed livestock which were removed to safety. The fire involved hay and straw lying on the floor, one drag rake and one hose reel jet used.

3 fire appliances including the Heavy Pumping Unit were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton and Prees. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet

Fire involving 40 large bales - 3 hose reel jets in use

3 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Clun and Craven Arms. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Fire involving large quantity of bales - minimal damage to building. Two hose reel jets drag rakes and thermal image camera in use.

At 19:17 on Sunday, 22 March, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Shrewsbury.

6 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Alarm raised by a resident in a nearby village reporting a barn fire which could be seen in the distance. Crews were sent to the scene but upon arrival it became obvious that this was a false alarm caused by the occupier having a controlled burn.

Fire involving 7 tonnes of straw and 5 tonnes of corn. Agricultural vehicle assisting crews with dragging out straw.

5 fire appliances including the Heavy Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Ellesmere, Oswestry, Prees, Shrewsbury, Tweedale, Wem and Whitchurch.

Barn 200m x 50m containing approximately 500 tonnes of hay and 1 tractor fully involved in fire. 2 main jets and 2 hose reel jets in use to extinguish fire.

6 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Craven Arms and Much Wenlock. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet

Fire involving pig sty measuring 4 metres x 4 metres. 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and 1 main jet in use. Three cows and 18 piglets have been rescued and moved to safe location
