Hodnet RDS supported by Retained Support Officers recently held a recruit morning on Saturday 21st March at Hodnet Fire Station. The session ran from 10.30am till 1pm and gave potential new recruits an opportunity to take part in various practical sessions such as the equipment carry and ladder climb. They also viewed the recruitment information DVD and Hodnet staff were at hand to discuss the role of a retained firefighter.

Shropshire's Deputy Chief Fire Officer has been appointed President of the county branch of the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

Paul Raymond, who is responsible for road safety with the county fire service, takes over from Chief Superintendent Guy Rutter who has moved to a new job at Worcester police HQ.
