At 19:49 on Tuesday, 9 June, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Morda, Oswestry.
2 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform were mobilised from Oswestry and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Fire Control received reports of smoke issuing from the roof of a property. On arrival, crews confirmed the incident to be a fire confined to the chimney. Thorough inspection made using thermal imaging camera of the chimney stack. No further action taken.

Crews called to assist one male adult off a roof top who was unable to get down himself using the Aerial Ladder Platform.

At 05:11 on Monday, 18 May, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Alveley.
10 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform, the Light Pumping Unit and the Welfare Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Tweedale. Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Hosereel jet
- Main jet
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.
The service is currently dealing with a derelict hotel fire with 8 fire engines plus additional supporting fire engines and officers. Numerous calls were received to the incident with smoke visible from more than a mile away.

Area Manager Andy Johnson said: "The Service is currently dealing with a large fire involving a disused hotel in the Birdsgreen area of Alveley, South Shropshire. The building is approximately 90x50m in size and consists of 3 floors, with the whole of the building involved in the fire. The Service has received a number of calls from the area, due to smoke being visible from a number of miles away."

- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Covering jet
- Hosereel jet
- Main jet
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
3 covering jets, 3 hose reel jets, 6 breathing apparatus in use. 1 LPG tank being cooled. Aerial Ladder Platform also in use.
