A quarter of electric blankets were condemned as a dangerous fire safety risk in tests carried out in Shropshire last year.
The brigade has again linked up with Shrewsbury’s RMW Electrical to offer free electric blanket tests in the county in September and October this year.

Bishops Castle Gumbo Festival
Firefighters from Bishops Castle Fire Station will be on hand to give festival goers information about our summer campaign – make safety your key ingredient. There will information about the dangers of BBQ’s and carbon monoxide poisoning. The Gumbo festival continues until Sunday.
Shrewsbury Flower Show
A fire engine from Shrewsbury and our outreach vehicle will be attending both days of the Shrewsbury flower show. We will be on hand to give fire safety advice and information. We are also promoting our summer safety campaign 2014 – safety is your key ingredient.

Ageing well in Wem drop in
We will be attending the drop in sessions that are currently held in Wem town hall every Thursday. The sessions are held by Shroshrie Council will lots of information on services available to residents in the Wem area.
