I am writing to make a request for all the information to which I am entitled under the The Freedom of Information Act 2002. Please may you provide me with the following:
How many wildfires did your service attend last calendar year (2025)? And so far this year January-July 2026?
In total, how many firefighters were dispatched to these wildfires last calendar year (2025)? And so far this year January-July 2026?
How many active firefighters does your service currently have?
Do you provide wildfire-specific training to firefighters? And if so, how many firefighters have received this training to date?
Please list the resources that your fire service owns for fighting wildfires? (For example, equipment/ vehicles like unimogs, water backpacks, backpack blowers)
Do you own any firefighting aircraft or aerial resources? (For example, helicopter/ plane/ drones)
How much did your fire service spend on fighting wildfires in 2015? (For example, on training / resources including equipment and vehicles)
How much did your fire service spend on fighting wildfires last calendar year (2025)? And so far this calendar year January – July? (For example, on training / resources including equipment and vehicles)
If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request.
Likewise, if this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you could contact me as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist requesters. If any of this information is already in the public domain, please can you direct me to it, with page references and URLs if necessary.

Do you own any firefighting aircraft or aerial resources? (For example, helicopter/ plane/ drones)
For the purposes of this response, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service has interpreted ‘firefighting aircraft’ to mean manned aircraft used for firefighting operations. The Service does not own or operate any such aircraft. The Service does, however, operate drones for situational awareness and operational support. These are not used to deliver water or fire suppressants.
