Freedom of Information
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is committed to openness and transparency. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR), you have the right to request recorded information held by the Service.
Before submitting a request, please check our Publication Scheme, Disclosure Log and Transparency pages, as the information you require may already be publicly available.

Please note: Requests for your own personal information are normally handled as Subject Access Requests rather than Freedom of Information requests. Information on how to make a Subject Access Request can be found on our Subject Access Requests page: Data Protection
 
What should I include in my request?
To help us process your request as quickly as possible, please provide:
  • your full name;
  • a correspondence address (either an email address or postal address); and
  • a clear description of the information you require.
If we require further information to identify or locate the information requested, we may contact you for clarification.
 
Response Times
We aim to respond to all Freedom of Information requests within 20 working days of receipt. Where clarification is required, the statutory time limit may be paused until sufficient clarification is received.

Our Publication Scheme provides access to information we routinely make available without the need for a Freedom of Information request.

Environmental Information Regulations
Information relating to the environment may be dealt with under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
 
Internal Reviews and Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may request an internal review. Requests for an internal review should normally be submitted within 40 working days of our response. If you remain dissatisfied following the outcome of the internal review, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): Make a complaint | ICO
