Members are reminded that they must not participate in the discussion of, or voting on, any matter in which they have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest and should leave the room prior to the commencement of the debate.

Members are asked to receive any questions, statements or petitions, of which notice has been received, from members of the public.

Members are asked to agree the minutes, attached marked 4a, of the Extraordinary Fire Authority meeting, held on 23 February 2022, and that they be signed by the Chair as a correct record.

Members are asked to agree the minutes, attached marked 4b, of the Annual Fire Authority meeting, held on 22 June 2022, and that they be signed by the Chair as a correct record.

Members are asked to agree the minutes, attached marked 4c, of the Extraordinary Fire Authority meeting, held on 2 August 2022, and that they be signed by the Chair as a correct record.

Members are asked to receive the minutes of the Strategy and Resources Committee meeting, held on 21 September 2022, which are to follow marked 5, and agree the recommendation at item 6.  The report for this, is attached marked 5a.

Members are asked to recieve and note the minutes of the Standards, Audit and Performance Committee meeting, held on 30 September 2022, which are to follow marked 6.

The recommendation at item 8 on these minutes, relating to the Annual Review 2021/22, will be considered at item 7 on this agenda. 

This report, attached marked 7, presents the draft Annual Review (also known as the Annual Statement of Assurance) for 2021/22 and asks the Fire Authority to consider the document and approve it for publication.

Officers will give a verbal update on progress with the Fire Alliance between Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.

Members have a discretion to exclude the press and public from meetings of the Fire Authority in defined circumstances.  In view of the nature of business to be transacted, it is recommended that under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, having been satisfied in all the circumstances of the case that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing this information, that Members formally resolve that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1,2, 3 and 4 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to Local Government Act 1972.

Members are asked to receive and note the exempt minutes of the Brigade Managers Employment Panel meeting, held on 1 September 2022, which are attached marked 10.

The Fire Authority will receive a briefing from Officers on Industrial Action.
