Members are asked to agree the minutes of the last meeting of the Standards Committee, held on 18 February 2008, and that they be signed as a correct record.

To receive any questions, statements or petitions, of which notice has been received, from members of the public.

To update the Committee on developments regarding the introduction of the local system for processing Code of Conduct complaints and to ask the Committee to establish a framework to consider complaints in accordance with the new legislative requirements.

This report provides the Committee with information about Standards Board for England Guidance on specific areas of the Code of Conduct and seeks the views from the Committee in respect of any work that needs to be undertaken with regard to the guidance.

To inform the Committee of the results of recent research undertaken on behalf of the Standards Board for England in relation to satisfaction with the Standards Board for England and attitudes to the ethical environment.

Attached, marked 8, is the latest Bulletin (no. 38 – April 2008) issued by the Standards Board for England. As previously agreed by the Committee, the Bulletins are now brought to Members for discussion.
