Members are asked to receive any questions, statements or petitions, of which notice has been received, from members of the public.

Members are asked to agree the minutes, attached marked 4, of the Standards and Human Resources Committee meeting, held on 16 November 2017, and that they be signed by the Chair as a correct record.

Members are asked to note the minutes, attached marked 5a and marked 5b, of the Pension Board meetings held on 16 June 2017 and 24 April 2018.

This report, attached marked 6, brings the constitution of the Standards and Human Resources Committee to its Members for review.  The report also asks Members to consider whether there is any training or development, which should be undertaken by the Committee in order to fulfil its role.

This report, attached marked 7, reviews progress against the 2017/18 Work Plan for the Standards and Human Resources Committee and puts forward a 2018/19 Work Plan for the Committee’s consideration and approval.

Whilst not a legal requirement, it is good practice for Members to receive regular updates on Code of Conduct complaints, even if there have been none.  Officers are pleased to report that, during the period 2017/18, the Fire Authority has received no complaints that any of its Members has breached its Code of Conduct.

This report, attached marked 9, provides the Committee with an update on the recent recruitment programme for wholetime firefighters.

This report, attached marked 10, provides the Standards and Human Resources Committee with an end of year report on The People Strategy 2016 – 2020. 

This report, attached marked 11, provides the Standards and Human Resources Committee with information regarding the Executive Officer leave allowance and Gold Book vehicle allowances. 

This report, attached marked 12, provides Members with an overview of the reasonable adjustments made to support employees in their work roles.
