At 19:30 on Friday, 9 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Bridgnorth.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Telford Central and Wellington. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Beaters
  • Hosereel jet
  • Knapsacks

Fire involving trees and undergrowth on hillside.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Crews assisted West Midlands Ambulance Service.

At 11:36 on Saturday, 12 April, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Cleobury Mortimer.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow and Telford Central. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Beaters
  • Knapsacks

Fire involving approximately 2.5 hectares of pine trees, brash and gorse. Incident Support Unit in operation with fogging unit as well as crews using knapsacks and beaters to help extinguish the fire.

Fire on the Long Mynd involving 500 square metres of heather. Fire crews used fogging systems and beaters to gain control and extinguish fire.

9 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Clun, Craven Arms, Minsterley, Shrewsbury and Tweedale. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews mobilised to reports of a fire affecting several square metres of gorse bush. Upon arrival this was found to be a controlled burn.

1 fire appliance including the Incident Command Unit was mobilised from Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Thermal imaging camera

Report of overheating log burner. Crews carried out both internal and external inspections of the chimney space using a thermal imaging camera and a drone to detect any hot spots.. No hot spots found and inspection carried out only.

At 04:47 on Sunday, 23 February, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as LGV Fire in Oswestry.

6 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Ellesmere, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Telford. Operations, Fire Investigation and Principal officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet
  • Thermal imaging camera

Seven articulated lorries and a tractor alight at industrial unit which also affected an adjacent building. This incident required a six appliance attendance to aid in providing enough personnel, water supplies and breathing apparatus wearers on scene. Crews have been using main jets and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire whilst also wearing breathing apparatus and continually checking temperatures using a thermal imaging camera.

At 09:38 on Tuesday, 14 January, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Irongbridge .

2 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service .

Report of one dog and one owner stuck in pond up to chest height. On arrival of crews both owner and dog had self extricated so no action was required by Fire Service. Ambulance crews assessing casualty.
