At 15:08 on Thursday, 19 June, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as LGV Fire in Shifnal.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency and the Police.

Small fire involving brakes of heavy goods vehicle. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish fire.

Car Fire

M54 Junction 6 Westbound Telford

At 16:38 on Friday, 30 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in Telford.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency and the Police.

One saloon vehicle involved in fire. Crews extinguished using hosereel jets. The vehicle has been made electrically safe and highways are arranging recovery of the vehicle.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Dry powder extinguisher
  • Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency and the Police.

One car fully alight on the westbound carriageway of the A5. Extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus', 2 hose reel jets, Foam and one dry powder extinguisher.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Telford.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency.

Ruptured fuel tank of car in layby. Crews used an environmental grab pack to stem the fuel. Crews used a hose reel jet to wash away affected area of layby and highway. Highways have been contacted to attend.

Reports of car on fire. This was discovered to be a false alarm caused by electrical fault. Nothing in use.

Small fuel leak from private saloon vehicle from fuel line pump. Fire Service personnel relocated vehicle to a safe position until it is recovered. Highways have been contacted to clear fuel spill on road.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency and a utility company.

Report of tree which had fallen down onto electricity cables. Crews unable to carry out any action and have requested highways to attend to clear road and Scottish Power have also been requested to attend.

Fuel Leak/Spillage Small

At 23:55 on Saturday, 7 December, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Fuel Leak/Spillage Small in Albrighton .

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Albrighton.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Environment Agency and the Highways Agency.

Large tree fallen onto Kerosene tank which had split the tank causing approx 1000 liters of fuel to spill onto the roads and into the drains. Crews used environmental grab pack to block drains and absorbent pads to soak up remaining liquid. Tank is no longer leaking and highways and environment agency have been requested to attend.
